The Challenge: Make a short film (under 5 min) that involves these three prompts:
Theme: New Beginnings
Prop: Ice cubes
Line of Dialogue: “What time is it?”
The Submission: A film about a beta fish’s journey to it’s new home as an anniversary gift.
I led a five person team for this 72 hour film contest. As an ensemble, we developed the idea and devised the scenes with everyone taking turns on directing, performing, and filming.
We experimented with camera placements and perspectives, resulting in a single shot scene from the fish’s watery view. We also worked with a drone cinematographer, resulting in a stunning end shot that gazed over West hollywood.
